Once again, it is my pleasure to present to you my yearly event,

Thor's Challenge of Champions III

Come one and all, on July 20, 21, and 22, to partake in revelry of the likes never before experienced upon the great expanses of Uberheim! (ok, we have experienced such revelry before, I just liked the way that sentence played out!) We will be hosting the Triple Crown of Uberheim's Tournaments: The Kingdom Champion Tournament, the Spirit of Uberheim Tournament, and the Viscouncy of Antwerp Tournament, as well as the monthly Ranking Tournament. We will also be hosting the yearly Challenge of Champions Tournament which will start Friday evening and end on Saturday night. Those entered, will partake in a series of contests, competitions, and tournaments, each yielding points dependent on the number of contestants in the tournament. For example, if 10 people enter the entire tournament, and Lord A comes in first in the Foot Race, he gets 10 points (Lord B comes in second place and gets 9 points, etc.) Then, if Lord A comes in third in the Leg Wrestling, he gets 8 points....which would leave Lord A with a running total of 18 points. Who ever has amassed the highest total will be declared Victor of the Challenge of Champions. Contestants are allowed to drop their 4 lowest scores or choose not to enter four competitions, in fact you may choose to enter as few as you like and statistically still have chance of winning. A final tie in scores will be settled with a chess match. Their will be 2 divisions both for Lords and Ladies. Those activities included in the tournament will be denoted in brackets. Separate scrolls will be awarded for individual winners in all the tournaments. What follows is the current schedule...all should assume that the schedule will be adhered to AND the schedule is subject to change (this sentence was inspired by Loki, and yes, I liked the way it played out, as well!)

FRIDAY

Castle Golf, 7-10pm. We will be meeting here to play, in garb, in the first Uberheim Classic (mini) Golf Tournament! {challenge points} Tee Off will commence at 7:30 pm. Afterwards, those that wish, will partake in the "Uberheim 500 Race" (yes, it's a go cart track, and it is not even remotely period, but a whole lot of fun...AND this is NOT worth any tourney points). Castle Golf also has an array of food selections and video games to enjoy. Cost: Full round of mini Golf on their mini mountain course is $6 and the go carts are $4.50. Location: 1878 Middle Country Road in Centereach. Directions: From the LIE...take the LIE to exit 62 north, Nichols Road...take Nichols Road north to Middle Country Road West. Go west for ~1/2 mile on Middle Country Road. It will be on your left, behind a Burger King (which, from what I have heard, has been closed or torn down). You can't miss the building, for it is designed to look like a one story castle!

10 to 2: MUGGS PUB...Grand revelry, in garb, will commence at Uberheim's familiar watering hole! Aside from the Karaoke provided by Spin Master Mime, be will also be having an Arm Wrestling Competition {Challenge points} and an Archery Darts Competition {Challenge points}. SATURDAY

The event will recommence at SouthHaven Campgrounds. Reservations for camp space must be received by Randgrith (Lani) by Wednesday. Money for said camp space must be received by Lani no later then Friday evening at the bar. With a Green Key, each site is $13. Each site can accommodate 2 cars, 2 tents and 4 occupants. 11 to 12: Qualifications (Marshal: Fafnir) All qualifications MUST be done during this time ONLY. 12 to 12:30: Ranking Tourney (Marshal: Rudiger). {this is doubling for ranking and for Challenge points}

12:30 to 1: OPENING COURT, DAYBOARD available after court closes (Dayboard menu...Cheeses, bread, honeybutter, pepperoni, pickles, water (yes, water...Lemonade will be available for a quarter a glass at the Kinderheim Lemonade stand!!!), vegetables, etc. Cost is $3 a person, payment deadline is Friday at the bar),

ART COMPETITION DISPLAY {Challenge points} All are charged to create a portrait, 8 1/2" x 11" maximum size, using any style...paint, markers, pencils, etc...of the following topic: King Siegfried, with small smith's hammer, and Prince Thor, with Mjolnir, creating the sword Balmung upon a great fire...a classic scene from the original film project...with the background of choice...in space, on Bifrost, in the depths of Muspellheim, in the center of Ming Yung, whatever! Put your name on the back. All in the realm, sans the artists, will have the option throughout the day to vote on their favorite pictures. Note: If you are in the Challenge tournament, submit something...anything, for it's better then receiving NO points. NO COMPUTER ANIMATION...ALL ARE ON THEIR HONOR TO PRODUCE THEIR OWN ARTISTRY

1 pm to 4 pm...Uberheim's Triple Crown, these will be held under the gazebo in the event of rain

1 to 2: Kingdom Champion Tournament (Marshal: Uller)

6 to 7: Thor's Challenge Wheel of Doom®

7 to 8: Feast retrieval, preparations, cooking, table set up, showering for those that need it and I'm betting that some of you will! :~)

8 to 10: GRAND FEAST...Generally speaking, this is a BYO. However, to give the great chefs of Uberheim a break, I am utilizing the catering of the Ground Round that was procured for Gladiator Games. For $12 a person you will receive salad, hero, sausage and peppers, lasagna, buffalo wings, spare ribs, bread and butter, and soda. I will be prepaying for this. Their is a limit of 20 people. First ordered, first on the list. I will be collecting money from now, through the Senate meeting on Wednesday, till Friday night, at the bar. Email reservations will be accepted at SirThor@webtv.net but all money must be paid Friday night, unless other arrangement have been made. Their are no child rates, so parents may want to bring them a separate dinner. As of yet, I have no one to retrieve the food between the hours of 7 and 8 and then to distribute it evenly. The first volunteer I get will eat free. Any who wish to entertain the populace, during the feast, are requested to do so.

ALL ARE CHARGED BY THE KING TO EAT THEIR FOOD TOGETHER AT THIS TIME WHETHER OR NOT YOU ARE ON THE MEAL PLAN.

During the feast we will be having the final stretch of the Challenge Tourney with these 3 competitions:

1) BAWDY Bardic Competition: Perform, during the feast, any bardic offering...filk, poem, story telling, with or without musical accompaniment (either instrument or taped recording is fine). The chosen theme will be: THOR....don't hold back, I'm game for anything!!!

2) Dragon Steak Competition: This is a culinary contest for the best steak submission. Their will be 3 happy judges for this competition. All submissions must be minimum of 8 ounces. The identity of the cooks will not be reveiled to the judges till after they are judged. If we have a decent amount of entries, we may auction off the third judge slot to the highest bidder!

3) Chubby Bunny Competition: 'Nuff Said!

10 to 11: ROYAL COURT...while this may not be a 'Great Count', many bestowments and surprises will occur. If you have any business for this or opening court, either email me or speak to me at the event.

OTHER SATURDAY ACTIVITIES:

We will also have several tables set up which will accommodate A&S (no electricity, sorry), Chess, Heraldry, Children, Literature, Uberheim info (flyers, pics, etc...any loaned for the day Uber photo albums will be HIGHLY appreciated), an a Kinderheim operated LEMONADE STAND...A quarter a glass, to raise money for Kinderheim supplies...PLEASE PATRONIZE THEM!!!

SUNDAY

1) Breakfast Feast: $5 a person for a wide selection of good morning eats. Money can be paid Saturday the latest. The order in which you paid will dictate the order in which you will receive your plate of food. WE DO NOT YET HAVE A FEASTOCRAT FOR THIS....BUT I ALREADY ASKED ONE PERSON AND I AWAIT HIS REPLY, EAGERLY!

2) Chess Tournament: Not for Challenge points, just for fun.

3) MUST BE OFF THE SITE BY 4 PM

The Challenge of Champions Tournament covers a "Renaissance Man/Woman" range of holistic abilities: accuracy, strength, steadiness, martial prowess, artistic talent, competitive might, speed, bardic excellence, culinary expertise, and the ability to shove cylindrical sugar balls in your mouth!!!
