Thor's Orgy of the Gods III
May 19-21, 2000
The event was held at Thor's palace. Many people arrived Friday night and set up camp. Saturday morning dawned chilly and damp, but while the rain canceled many of the outdoor tournaments, it could not subdue Uberheimian good spirits! A ranking tourney was held, as well as a chess tournament. Arts and Sciences taught classes in Garbmaking, Rune Writing, and Heraldry.
The palace had been decorated most impressively by the Legion of Thunder. An excellent wall-hanging displayed in the kitchen depicted the illustrated history of Uberheim, while other "tapestries" throughout the palace showed lurkers and monsters (fear the dragon in the garderobe!). The Legion themselves were looking their best, all dressed in stylish black and purple tabards, robes, and gowns.
The food, provided by Princess Sif, Lord Hagen, and the lady Urda, (with help from others) was outstanding. A fine dayboard consisted of fruit and cheese. The main feast had 3 removes, salad, bread, honey butter and herb butter, then pasta, then a succulent marinated roast. On Sunday morning, a hearty country breakfast of eggs, pancakes, French toast, sausage, bacon, and bagels was provided to the satisfaction of all.
Various important ceremonies occured in Courts of Asgard and Siegfried. Stellerex receivedthe "Key to Valhalla" (Asgardian Award, Countess Hella released Stellerex from death, Valkyrie Sir Rossweisse was enfeoffed, Nephestus became the High Priest of Sif, Isolde and Lady Skadi entered the Legion of Thunder, Lord Uller was crowned baron, Sirs Thor, Hagen, Rudiger, Fafnir, and Rossweisse reaffirmed as Knights and Masters, Odin re-affirmed as a Master, the Bishop announced his intention to build the Cathedral of the North Star (Christian), Marlineus became Vermithrax, Dragonmage of Uberheim, Sir Rudiger took Zanthia the Elf to squire, and the Eternals ate once again of the Ambrosia to reaffirm their place in the Realm.
The event ended shortly after breakfast on Sunday. Despite some disappointments due to the weather and to alcoholic oggles, it was indeed a fine Uberevent. Vivat to Prince Thor, Princess Sif, and the Legion for a very credible entertainment.
