Ve means "holiness". Ve was the son of Bor and Bestla, and the brother of Vili and Odin. 

Ve is identified with Lodur by some. Along with his brothers he killed the giant Ymir and created the world out of his carcass. He gave the first humans feeling, appearance, and speech.
